Allow yourself to change your mind

Many successful people have changed paths.

You might:

  • Take a job and then discover a new passion
  • Start studying for something and then realise it's not for you
  • Work for someone else and then find you want to set something up yourself

Changing your mind does not mean failure, it means you have learned something new.

As you explore different jobs, courses, or opportunities, you may discover that something isn't the right fit for you, and that is a normal part of growth. Every experience teaches you something, whether it confirms what you want or helps you realise what you do not. What matters most is taking time to reflect on those experiences: What did you enjoy? What challenged you? What would you do differently next time? Learning from these moments allows you to adjust your direction with more confidence and make better decisions for your future.

Your path does not need to be perfect from the start; it just needs to keep moving forward.

Sue Olivier
What has underpinned my journey has been learning and curiosity. The curiosity to keep asking, what else? What else can I learn? What else can I know? What else is out there? Does this interest me? Is this thing going to shape me? So I kept exploring areas of interest, and things that I wanted to explore further took me down a certain path.
