BecomingX aims to help everyone to realise their potential, not just those who can afford it. In collaboration with our clients and partners, we deliver high impact solutions to support disadvantaged people, working to change the world on a grand scale - one person at a time.
To help a refugee to realise their potential requires a lot more than just the legal right of entry. BecomingX is leading a major initiative to develop 'Beacon', an app that provides refugees with the critical information and services to thrive in their host countries. Supported by companies such as Deloitte, Wise, Clifford Chance, DLA Piper and 17 NGOs, our goal is to help millions of refugees to thrive.
We're proud to partner with KPMG to provide BecomingX Education, our personal development platform for educators, to every school in Guernsey and the Cayman Islands. As a major employer in each country, KPMG aims to support its communities and help build skills for life. Through our partnership, every teacher and child benefits from world-class, ready to deliver education resources to help make the classroom a more inspiring place.
How can global companies deliver local impact at scale? Amazon came to BecomingX with the ambition of inspiring young people across the UK and giving them the skills and confidence to thrive in life. Led by Amazon, and with support from The Mayor's Fund for London, we provided BecomingX Education to over 150 schools across the UK, helping build the skills and confidence of an estimated 100,000 young people.
We developed 'BecomingX Ukraine' in collaboration with our charity BecomingX Foundation, to help Ukrainian adults to build skills and get jobs, and to help young Ukrainians develop critical life skills. With the support of our partners Accenture and Amazon, we created over 50 hours of interactive courses and filmed some of Ukraine's most inspiring people. BecomingX Ukraine is now being handed over to the Ukrainian Government to support even more people.
What can corporate employees do in just one hour to create a more sustainable world? Accenture asked BecomingX to develop the concept and brand assets to drive volunteering as part of their partnership with World's Largest Lesson (UNICEF and UNESCO). Together, we created 'Sustainability Hour', developing the full set of brand assets including the inspiring film 'A lot can happen in an hour' which features a voice over from BecomingX co-founder Bear Grylls.
BecomingX was asked by the UK Ministry of Justice to design a smartphone app to help reduce the rate of reoffending. We developed 'Advance', which provides prison leavers with the information, services and support needed to enable prison leavers to better integrate into society. Described by HMP Governors and prison leavers as 'life changing', BecomingX is now seeking private funding to bring Advance to fruition.
BecomingX is proudly partnering with KPMG to help deliver its 'Opening doors to opportunity' programme to support 1,000 young people in the UK. A highly engaging skills development and activity opportunity hosted at Bear Grylls Adventure in Birmingham, BecomingX developed the programme, materials and activities, enabling KPMG volunteers and school teachers to deliver an inspiring day that lights a fire for the young participants.
BecomingX Foundation is the charitable arm of BecomingX, set up to deliver BecomingX's mission in disadvantaged communities around the world. BecomingX provides the Foundation with all of its education content, films and platforms to support its projects. Following a successful pilot of a BecomingX Foundation programme in Embu Kenya, supporting children from a rescue centre and two local schools, the Foundation is now aiming to scale its programmes to other communities in Africa.
